It has been 3 weeks since the opening of the Tasmanian Tree Project at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery and things are going very, very well. We have had numerous comments and messages of support from many visitors to the gallery. Some are impressed by the the scale some by the presentation but we can safely say that the underlaying experience that most visitors walk away with is a new and very positive perspective of a forest.
Our primary goal for the Tasmanian project was to bypass the long and at times dramatic recent political, environmental and social issues that surround the trees. So many have used the trees as a tool to support their own political or social persuasions. We believe that this has led to a fatigue of a kind for the public and lead to these forest being under appreciated for simply existing.
We engineered our project with the express goal of remaining apolitical just so viewers can simply appreciate the trees and come to their own conclusions as to how they see them.
The exhibit at TMAG will be open 10am-5pm 7 days. a week until the 19th of March.
